prized possession

Featured
April 6, 2025
A prized possession is something you own that has significant personal or sentimental value. Prized means highly valued or greatly cherished. Your prized possession might be worthless to anyone else—a handwritten letter from a dead relative, a chipped mug from childhood, a ticket stub from an unforgettable concert.

What makes it prized is the story attached, the emotional weight. It's the difference between a possession (something you own) and a prized possession (something that owns you, in a way).
